Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Himan Sym (ranked 4543 p4p, 4214 weight class) and Rojesterman Haynes (ranked 443 p4p, 424 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Himan Sym!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rojesterman Haynes!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sym throws a nice looking combination but Haynes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Haynes blocks a head kick by Sym.
Left hook, right uppercut from Sym.
Haynes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Haynes connects with a high kick.
Sym keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sym shoots for a takedown but Haynes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Haynes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sym sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sym went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Haynes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Haynes is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sym knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sym for a finish.

Sym wants to improve his position but instead Haynes has moved into half guard.
Haynes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sym is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Haynes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Sym defends it well.

Haynes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sym has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Haynes has managed to get both his arms back between Sym's legs - danger averted.

Sym stuns Haynes with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nice sprawl there from Haynes as Sym shoots in.
Sym uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Haynes.
Haynes shoots in for a takedown but Sym shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
