Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Jimenez (ranked 3173 p4p, 3377 weight class) and John Adam Jr (ranked 333 p4p, 352 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adam Jr moves to clinch but Jimenez breaks away and Jimenez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jimenez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jimenez missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jimenez in particular looking to stall. Adam Jr wants to get back to full guard. Jimenez moves into the clinch. I was talking to Jimenez's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Adam Jr is looking to take this one to the mat. Jose Jimenez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Jimenez clobbers Adam Jr with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Jimenez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Adam Jr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
