Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcoh Olivia (ranked 2930 p4p, 2351 weight class) and Stephen Compton (ranked 351 p4p, 297 weight class). Olivia comes to the cage accompanied by Remember The Name - Fort Minor. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olivia works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Olivia scores with a body shot.

Compton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Compton walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Compton has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And Compton tries to counter it with a takedown but Olivia pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Olivia ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Olivia fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Compton on the side of the head.

so Compton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Compton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Olivia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Compton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Olivia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Compton, into his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Olivia is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Compton is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Olivia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

and Compton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Olivia's guard.
Olivia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Compton on the ground.

Compton drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Olivia dives on top into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Olivia wants to hit a sweep here but Compton passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Olivia there!
Compton manages to capitalize on a mistake by Olivia to take his back!

Compton working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Olivia is doing well to defend. Compton seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Olivia is forced to tap and this one is over!

Stephen Compton really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Battleborn Apparel logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
