The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Chai has a takedown stuffed. Chai gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Dukat (2) vs (0) Chai Dukat controlling from the top position. Chai is trying to control the position but Dukat postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dukat is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dukat stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chai swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chai is trying to keep Dukat in close.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chai tries to land a sweep but no joy. Chai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dukat can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dukat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Our spies down at at HELLCADEMY inform us that Chai has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Chai working a defensive guard here.

Dukat slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We've been hearing good reports from Dukat's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Chai has a hand on Dukat's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Dukat takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Score +3 for passing guard: Dukat (9) vs (2) Chai Chai wants to hold on but Dukat pushes him away. Dukat controlling his opponent. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dukat trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Dukat takes the fight on points by 9 to 2. A very excited looking Gul Dukat rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. |
