Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hans Arne Georgsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Fight Song. DJ Johnson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, DJ Johnson! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Georgsen. Johnson tries to clinch but Georgsen moves out of range. Georgsen tests Johnson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like DJ Johnson has been cut. Georgsen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnson, pushing him back against the cage. Georgsen prevents Johnson from breaking the clinch. Georgsen avoiding damage as Johnson throws knees to the body.
Georgsen pulls guard. Georgsen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Johnson wants to stand but Georgsen has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Georgsen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground. Georgsen wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Georgsen is trying to keep Johnson in close.
Johnson wants to stand but Georgsen is controlling his posture from full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Georgsen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Georgsen fails with a takedown attempt. Georgsen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Johnson! Georgsen controlling from the full mount. Johnson is trying to stand up. Georgsen trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Georgsen with shots to the head and body - Johnson looks very uncomfortable down there. Georgsen won't let Johnson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Georgsen looking to finish Johnson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Johnson! Georgsen tries to control but Johnson wriggling away. Johnson trying desperately to get to his feet.
Johnson looks gassed! Georgsen looking to ground and pound but Johnson is blocking nicely. Georgsen controlling the position easily from mount. Georgsen scoring with strikes but Johnson is staying in there. Georgsen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Johnson hang on?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Georgsen wants to control the pace but Johnson is squirming around nicely. Georgsen controlling the pace for now. Johnson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Georgsen content just to control the position here. Johnson tries to buck Georgsen off but he can't manage it. Georgsen looking to control and managing it successfully. Georgsen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georgsen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Georgsen trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. Georgsen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Georgsen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Hans Arne Georgsen just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Johnson throws an off balance right hand
and Georgsen counters with a takedown into side control. Johnson is not content to let Georgsen control the position. Georgsen controlling from side mount. Georgsen trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Georgsen looking to control but instead Johnson has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is trying to stand up here but Georgsen is controlling him well. Georgsen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Johnson is staying active underneath Georgsen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Georgsen looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Some wild striking there from Johnson.
Georgsen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Georgsen fails with a takedown attempt. Georgsen walks forward, straight into a front kick from Johnson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Georgsen lands a two punch combo.
Georgsen rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Johnson wants to break free but Georgsen has control.
Georgsen jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Georgsen around his waist. Georgsen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Georgsen keeps control of Johnson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Johnson has had enough of the clinch but Georgsen keeps him there for the moment. Georgsen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Johnson can pounce on him.
Johnson tries to clinch but Georgsen moves away and Georgsen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Georgsen trying to control the pace. Georgsen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Georgsen wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it. Georgsen wants to pass to mount but Johnson is defending the position. Johnson is staying active underneath Georgsen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Georgsen works his foot free and advances to mount.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Georgsen cracks Johnson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Georgsen controlling from the full mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Georgsen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch. Georgsen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Georgsen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Georgsen looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Johnson gets to his feet - Georgsen follows without any prompting. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johnson. Georgsen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnson, pushing him back against the cage. Georgsen can't get the takedown.

Johnson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Georgsen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Georgsen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Johnson is pushing Georgsen's head away, looking to escape. Georgsen manages to hold on to the position though. Georgsen controls the position.

Good standup being displayed there by Johnson as he connects with a hook. Georgsen shoots in but no luck this time. Georgsen swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson. Johnson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Georgsen if he has to take too many more of those.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Georgsen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Johnson - the referee stops the clock and Georgsen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Johnson. Georgsen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Johnson wants to clinch. A kick lands to the mid section there for Johnson. Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A slapping body kick lands there for Johnson. Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Georgsen's front leg but catches the back leg as Georgsen tries to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Georgsen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard. Georgsen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Georgsen postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it. Georgsen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Georgsen wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Hans Arne Georgsen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Georgsen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Johnson is looking to stand up but Georgsen isn't so interested in that idea. DJ Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Georgsen controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hans Arne Georgsen. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Georgsen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
