Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sakkie Bruinbrood (ranked 3907 p4p, 2584 weight class) and Walter Vargas (ranked 410 p4p, 311 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sakkie Bruinbrood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Walter Vargas!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruinbrood misses with a double jab
and Vargas counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Sakkie Bruinbrood has been cut.
Bruinbrood pushes Vargas up against the cage in a clinch.
Bruinbrood lands with a left to the head.
Bruinbrood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vargas dodges the punch combination from Bruinbrood.
Vargas throws a jab when Bruinbrood was well out of range.
Bruinbrood fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vargas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sakkie Bruinbrood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bruinbrood misses with a double jab
and Vargas counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bruinbrood thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bruinbrood has Vargas up against the cage in a clinch.
Vargas lands with a short shot to the head.
Bruinbrood pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bruinbrood takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bruinbrood looks for the body kick but Vargas saw that one coming.
Walter Vargas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice sprawl there from Vargas as Bruinbrood shoots in.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bruinbrood or perhaps it was just good defense by Vargas, which made it look bad.
Vargas looks to score with a jab to the body but Bruinbrood is just out of range.

Vargas takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Bruinbrood goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Vargas is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bruinbrood with a body shot.
Vargas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bruinbrood.
Bruinbrood thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Vargas if he has to take too many more of those.
Vargas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bruinbrood circles away quickly and effectively.
Bruinbrood throws a head kick but Vargas moves out of range.
Bruinbrood takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bruinbrood is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bruinbrood tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vargas swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vargas now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Vargas is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bruinbrood rather than just go for the knockout.
Bruinbrood moves into the clinch.
Vargas fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Vargas misses with a punch to the body.
Vargas doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bruinbrood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vargas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bruinbrood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vargas.
Vargas just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBruinbrood.
Vargas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vargas jabs at Bruinbrood's body.
Vargas misses with a few strikes there.
Bruinbrood misses with a double jab
and Vargas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vargas lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Bruinbrood goes down and covers up as Vargas starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
