Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zahar Krulov (ranked 2916 p4p, 2060 weight class) and Gabriel Mil (ranked 326 p4p, 246 weight class). Zahar Krulov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zahar Krulov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabriel Mil!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krulov tries to sprawl but Mil drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Mil is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Krulov is in trouble now - Mil has advanced to mount!
Mil misses with some ground and pound and Krulov recovers position to half guard.
Mil landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Mil prevents Krulov from improving his position.
Mil perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mil is taking a breather. Krulov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Krulov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mil's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mil's back!
Mil is trying to remain composed but Krulov is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Krulov lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Mil hold on?!

Krulov thows a strike but Mil uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Mil as he ends up in Krulov 's guard!

Mil wants to control from the top but Krulov keeps moving.
Krulov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've been informed that Mil has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Krulov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Krulov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mil wants to control from the top but Krulov keeps moving.
We've been hearing good reports from Krulov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Mil might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Krulov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Mil looking to sit in guard and control but Krulov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's time! Krulov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Krulov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mil is looking for a sweep. Krulov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Zahar Krulov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Krulov winds up and cracks Mil with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Krulov is controlling the pace.
Krulov not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mil moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mil lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Krulov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Mil throwing strikes but missing.
Mil trying to control the position from guard on top but Krulov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mil pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Krulov is keeping the position for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mil closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Krulov shoots for a takedown but Mil saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mil changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Krulov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zahar Krulov will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Nice takedown defense from Mil. No joy for Krulov on that attempt.
Mil takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Krulov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mil pinned against the cage. Mil gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mil throws a strike but Krulov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Krulov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Mil stuffs the takedown.
Krulov shoots in for a takedown but Mil shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mil fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Krulov to the ground. Mil is now in Krulov's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krulov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mil manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Krulov manages to get himself to full guard.

Mil is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Gabriel Mil comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mil has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
