This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 5 losses; Kristof Pardi! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 6 losses; Sambo Sam! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Sam tries to sprawl but Pardi drives through with a takedown into half guard. Pardi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pardi trying to pass the guard but Sam defending well.

Pardi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pardi wants to take his opponent's back but Sam doesn't allow it. Sam is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Score +3 for taking back: Pardi (8) vs (0) Sam Pardi controls the action. Sam felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. More hug and hope from Pardi. We've been hearing good reports from Pardi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Pardi is not going to allow Sam to sit and survive in this position. I would not like to be Sam right now.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Pardi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! You can see the frustration on Sam's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
