The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gers closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Musashi to the mat! Musashi manages to get full guard.
Musashi has momentary wrist control but Gers slips an elbow through the middle.
Musashi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gers postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Gers works over Musashi with some ground and pound from guard.

Musashi looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gers has picked Musashi up and slammed him! Musashi can't keep hold of the triangle and Gers manages to pass to side control!

Gers looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Musashi is looking to regain half guard here but Gers keeps moving and retains side control.
Gers scores with a couple of short elbows.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gers tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Musashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Musashi tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gers cranks the arm and Musashi screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Musashi, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
