PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spring Time (ranked 5161 p4p, 4753 weight class) and Ademilson Santos (ranked 497 p4p, 477 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Spring Time has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Spring Time seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spring Time!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ademilson Santos!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Time throws a looping overhand right but Santos ducks down to avoid it.
Santos feints the counter takedown.
Time wants to clinch.
Time's jab looks to have found its range, popping Santos under the eye.
Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Time's waist but Time gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side.
Santos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Time defends it nicely.

Time clinches up with Santos and pushes him back against the cage.
Time lands a good knee to the midsection. Santos won't want to take too many of those.
Time unloads a knee to the mid-section. Santos lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Time scores a nice knee to the body.

It looks like Ademilson Santos has been cut.

Time escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Santos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Time misses with a series of wild punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Santos uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Time.
Santos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Time.

Time connects with a nice looking jab.
Ademilson Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santos fails to land the takedown.
We've been told by Time's head coaches at The Labyrinth MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Spring Time has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ademilson Santos.
Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Time tries to sprawl out of it but Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Time manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Time misses with a hook. Santos ducked under it nicely.
Santos drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Time defends it well.
Time tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Santos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Santos keeps the fight on the outside.
And Santos tries to counter it with a takedown but Time pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Santos fails with the takedown.

Santos manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Time on his heels. He'll look to pass Time's guard now, I'm sure.
Time wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Santos manages to pass to side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Time looks like he's trying to stand up.

Time on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Time tries to get out of the position.
Santos trying to pass the guard but Time defending well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Time trying to control but Santos postures up.

Santos is pressing down on Time's thigh, looking to free his foot. Time is holding on for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Santos is keen to just control but Time is a slippery customer.

Time knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santos on the ground.
Time wants to control the action here but instead Santos manages to pass to full mount!
Santos with shots to the head and body - Time looks very uncomfortable down there.
Time is looking to get to half guard.
Time controls the position.

Santos working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Time looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Santos! Submission of the night perhaps?
