These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Colonel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pena lands a nice hook to Colonel's body. Colonel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Colonel has taken the fight to the clinch.

Pena breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Colonel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pena's waist but Pena gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Colonel off to one side.
Pena scores with a shot to the body.
Erick Colonel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Colonel looks winded!
Colonel moves in looking to clinch but Pena pushes him off.
Pena avoids the head kick by Colonel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Colonel misses with a kick to the body
and Pena counters with a right hand to the body.
Pena catches Colonel with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Colonel forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
