This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 26 wins and 20 losses; Trip Fontaine! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 22 wins and 23 losses; Uncle Abner!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Fontaine doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Abner counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Abner is looking for a triangle but Fontaine pushes his legs off easily.

Abner felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
You can see the frustration on Abner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Fontaine is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Abner still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Abner has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
