The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vogels avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mallin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vogels moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mallin throws the kick towards the body but Vogels avoids it.
Mallin moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Vogels pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mallin is out of range and Vogels settles back down.
Mallin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mallin scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Vogels throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Mallin is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Vogels with a body shot.
Dexter Mallin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mallin scores with a head kick. Vogels tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Oscar Vogels has been cut.
Vogels lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A slapping body kick lands there for Vogels.
Mallin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vogels looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Vogels lands a head kick. Mallin smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Vogels uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mallin.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mallin.

Mallin lands a big head kick that sends Vogels tumbling to the mat! Mallin takes a step backwards and waves Vogels back to his feet - he wants the finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Vogels is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That kick from Mallin tenderised Vogels's leg. Vogels is trying to keep his angry face on.

Vogels cracks Mallin with an uppercut from hell and Mallin crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Vogels's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Mallin is rocked!

Vogels drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Vogels seems to have locked his on tight now - Mallin screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Vogels, as he picks up the win!
