PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Poyzan Cloud (ranked 2901 p4p, 4239 weight class) and Tribal Chief (ranked 274 p4p, 355 weight class). Chief comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Roman reigns entrance kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tribal Chief!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chief shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cloud's guard.
Chief is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Cloud has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chief can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cloud postures up in Chief's guard and throws a big left but Chief blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cloud swings around for an armbar but Chief sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cloud's guard.

Cloud is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chief defends well.
Cloud really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Chief is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Chief is pushing down on Cloud's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cloud is fighting to maintain full guard but Chief has managed to sneak the leg through.

Cloud shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chief as he jumps to the side.
Cloud shoots in looking for a takedown. Chief tries to sprawl out of it but Cloud keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chief manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cloud tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chief manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cloud connects with a single shot there.

Chief changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cloud looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cloud is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Chief has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cloud wants to improve his position but Chief is controlling well.

Chief seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Chief is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cloud will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Chief is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cloud knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tribal Chief showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cloud moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chief looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Chief is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chief wants to pass to mount but Cloud is defending the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
We've been informed that Chief has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Chief takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Cloud has his takedown stuffed

and Chief counters with a single leg into guard. Cloud didn't expect that.
Chief scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cloud wants to sweep here but Chief controlling him for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tribal Chief comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Chief winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
