The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wellington swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mferi throws a shot to the body.
Mferi scores with a hook to the body. Wellington takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Mferi misses with a straight right.
And Wellington tries to counter it with a takedown but Mferi pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Mferi takes a swing at Wellington's ribcage but misses.
Mferi misses with an uppercut.
Wellington slips a jab from Mferi.
A little jabbing left from Wellington on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Mferi connects with a body shot.
Mferi misses with a looping right.

Wellington with the counter takedown but Mferi avoids it easily.
Mferi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wellington was well out of range. Poor timing from Mferi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wellington has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mferi finds it's way round the side to connect with Wellington's head.

Wellington scores with the left hand. Mferi knows he should have avoided that one.

Wellington misses with a few strikes there.
Wellington throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wellington takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Wellington has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wellington on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Mferi lands a nice shot that snaps Wellington's head back.
Mferi just misses with a punch to the body.
We've been told by Mferi's head coaches at Chiefs Fighting Inc. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mferi connects with a body shot that sends Wellington's belly button to the back.
Wellington is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mferi.
A right-left combo lands from Wellington.
Wellington walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wellington uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mferi.
Mferi lands with a right hand.

Mferi is looking to wear down Wellington with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Mferi throws an uppercut from hell that sends Wellington clean off his feet! He's out cold! Mferi stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
