PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 2486 p4p, 2545 weight class) and Somrak Khamsing (ranked 315 p4p, 328 weight class). Khamsing is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Wai khru ram muay. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Somrak Khamsing!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Khamsing raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Khamsing misses with a low kick.
Khamsing tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dux half committed to a counter leg kick.
Khamsing pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dux ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Khamsing moves away.
Khamsing throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Khamsing blocks a jab.
Khamsing goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dux throws a hook but Khamsing avoids it easily.
Dux falls off balance throwing a combination
and Khamsing counters with a leg kick.
Khamsing throws a lazy body kick
and Dux cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dux looks to score with a jab to the body but Khamsing is just out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Khamsing 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Khamsing.
Khamsing throws a leg kick that is checked
and Dux counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Khamsing feints and then cracks Dux's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dux down.
Dux misses with a jab to the body
and Khamsing makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Dux really felt that one!
Nice defenses there by Khamsing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dux. Khamsing does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dux definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Khamsing throws a lazy head kick
enabling Dux to counter with a crisp jab.
Khamsing pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dux was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Dux throws a series of punches but Khamsing moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Khamsing uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dux.
The crowd cheers as Dux lands an impressive looking overhand right. Khamsing doesn't seem phased though.

Khamsing is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dux closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Khamsing out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frank Dux!
A relieved looking Frank Dux thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
