Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oharles Cliveira (ranked 1772 p4p, 1735 weight class) and Onni Mountainjoki (ranked 243 p4p, 240 weight class). Onni Mountainjoki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oharles Cliveira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Onni Mountainjoki!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cliveira moves to clinch but Mountainjoki breaks away
and Mountainjoki counters with a straight right hand.

Mountainjoki thinks about the counter body kick.
Mountainjoki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cliveira closes the distance and clinches up with Mountainjoki, looking for a takedown. Cliveira pushes Mountainjoki against the cage but Mountainjoki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cliveira is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mountainjoki's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Mountainjoki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Cliveira is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mountainjoki has managed to free his arm - good work.

Cliveira is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cliveira is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mountainjoki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cliveira.

As Cliveira backs off Mountainjoki throws a huge counter combo but Cliveira manages to avoid it all.

Cliveira drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cliveira jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cliveira stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mountainjoki.
Cliveira goes for a double leg but Mountainjoki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mountainjoki continues to drive forward.
Mountainjoki lands a left hand.

Mountainjoki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mountainjoki lands a big right hand that sends Cliveira crashing to the mat! Mountainjoki stays standing though and waves Cliveira back to his feet!
Oh Cliveira is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mountainjoki throws a leg kick which misses Cliveira's front leg but catches the back leg as Cliveira tries to avoid it.

Mountainjoki cracks Cliveira with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Cliveira looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Mountainjoki finish him?
Cliveira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mountainjoki tries to avoid it but Cliveira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mountainjoki to the ground. Mountainjoki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mountainjoki fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cliveira shoots in looking for a takedown but Mountainjoki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cliveira's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Onni Mountainjoki seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Mountainjoki drops Cliveira with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Cliveira looks back up at him and smiles so Mountainjoki waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Cliveira fails with the takedown
and Mountainjoki rattles Cliveira with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Cliveira tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Mountainjoki dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Cliveira stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Onni Mountainjoki!
