Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matto Kaveri (ranked 2901 p4p, 2050 weight class) and Mike Beltran (ranked 171 p4p, 133 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matto Kaveri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Beltran!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaveri slips a jab from Beltran.
Kaveri drops down looking for a counter takedown but Beltran sprawls and moves away.
Kaveri dives in for a single leg takedown but Beltran sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kaveri lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Kaveri lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kaveri is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Beltran defends it well.
Kaveri is working for a kimura but Beltran is defending it quite comfortably.
Kaveri postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Beltran to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Beltran counters with a series of strikes. Kaveri will be more careful next time no doubt.
The fighters circling - Kaveri throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Beltran scores with a hook to the body. Kaveri takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Beltran displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kaveri throws out the jab.

and Beltran counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mike Beltran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kaveri feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Beltrans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Beltran avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kaveri tries for a takedown but Beltran sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

It looks like Matto Kaveri has been cut.
Kaveri fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beltran avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matto Kaveri. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beltran loads up on a big right hand but Kaveri slips the punch.

Beltran looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Beltran cracks Kaveri with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kaveri shoots in for a takedown but Beltran shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kaveri is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Beltran paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Beltran jabs Kaveri to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Kaveri uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Beltran.
The crowd cheers as Beltran lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kaveri doesn't seem phased though.
Oooooh!!! Beltran has knocked Kaveri down with a huge combo! Beltran steps away and waves a wobbly Kaveri back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Kaveri is rocked!
Kaveri is breathing heavily.
Beltran misses with a jab, cross combination.
Beltran throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kaveri stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Beltran scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Beltran will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Matto Kaveri's cut is getting worse.
Kaveri takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Beltran lands an overhand right.

and Kaveri takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Oh Kaveri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Beltran lands a big uppercut and Kaveri crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kaveri looks OK. Beltran waves Kaveri back to his feet!
Kaveri shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beltran as he avoids it easily.
Kaveri walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kaveri defending well as Beltran loads up on a big left hand.
Kaveri seems to have got his legs back now.
A shot to the liver by Beltran. Beautiful body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Beltran dips to his left and cracks Kaveri with an uppercut!
Kaveri swings widly with a right hand
and Beltran counters with a left to the body.
Beltran connects with a right hand. Kaveri shakes it off.
Kaveri looks up at the clock. Bad move! Beltran lands a right hand from hell, dropping Kaveri. Beltran pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Beltran!
Our winner, Mike Beltran, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
