Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kokkoro Kirin (ranked 1626 p4p, 1539 weight class) and Robbie Shakespeare (ranked 109 p4p, 101 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kokkoro Kirin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robbie Shakespeare! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirin misses the shot to the body. Shakespeare throws a shot from downtown. Kirin moves away and avoids it. Kokkoro Kirin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shakespeare throws a big shot that misses. Kirin checks a low kick from Shakespeare. Kirin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Shakespeare appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Kirin closes the distance and clinches. I was talking to Kirin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Shakespeare prevents a body shot from Kirin. Kirin misses with a hook from the clinch. Kirin misses with a body punch.

Shakespeare blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A hook to the body from Kirin.
Kirin lands an uppercut. Kirin lands an elbow that stopped Shakespeare in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Robbie Shakespeare has been cut. Shakespeare wants to break the clinch but can't.
Shakespeare wants to get back to striking at distance but Kirin won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shakespeare takes an elbow to the temple. Shakespeare escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shakespeare is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kirin. Kirin connects with a body shot. Shakespeare throws a right and a left that both miss. Kirin scores with a nice strike. Shakespeare throws a combination that misses and Kirin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kirin. Kirin working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Kirin landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Kirin lands with a short shot to the head. Shakespeare blocks an uppercut.
Shakespeare tries to circle away but Kirin has him pinned against the cage. Kirin lands a nice elbow. This has been an exciting period of action! Shakespeare is trying to break the clinch but Kirin has him pressed against the cage. Kirin scores with a nice hook to the head. Kirin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
That has opened up Robbie Shakespeare's cut even more.

Shakespeare wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kirin has him pressed against the cage. Kirin scores with a shoulder strike. Shakespeare has had enough of the clinch but Kirin keeps him there for the moment. Kirin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shakespeare's elbow. Shakespeare wants to break free but Kirin has control.
Shakespeare tries to break the clinch but Kirin is controlling the position. A frustrated look appears on Shakespeare's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kirin misses with a punch to the body.

The cut above Robbie Shakespeare's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Kirin lands a left hand that snaps the head of Shakespeare backwards. Kirin goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Kirin scores with a nice short uppercut. Kirin misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kirin comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. A right handed body shot lands from Kirin.
Shakespeare looks winded! Kirin digs a right hand into Shakespeare's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Shakespeare's gas tank. Kirin tries to work over Shakespeare's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Kirin lands with a left to the head.
Robbie Shakespeare's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Shakespeare takes a shot to the head. Kirin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Shakespeares head. A quick uppercut on the inside from Kirin.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Robbie Shakespeare's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
