R5 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Yuki Okada! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 4 losses; Adonis Thibodeaux!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Okada fails with an attempt to clinch.
Thibodeaux steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Okada.
Thibodeaux closes the distance and clinches.
Thibodeaux tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Okada just stands there and leans against the cage.

Thibodeaux is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Thibodeaux must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Okada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thibodeaux doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Okada is tightening it up a little... Thibodeaux has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Thibodeaux reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Thibodeaux taps out! Nice BJJ there by Okada!
