Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Sokolov (ranked 1646 p4p, 2642 weight class) and Vadim Volyas (ranked 225 p4p, 340 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergei Sokolov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vadim Volyas! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sokolov misses with a hook. Volyas is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Volyas scores with a one two! Sokolov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Sokolov throws a sloppy body shot
and Volyas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Volyas falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sokolov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sokolov. Sokolov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sokolov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Volyas's head. Sokolov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Volyas is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sokolov dives into side control.
Volyas is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sokolov off and has taken his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! I really don't envy Sokolov right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Volyas throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Even with his hooks in, Volyas manages to miss with strikes from the back. Sokolov is trying to get back to his feet but Volyas has full control of the position and if anything, Sokolov has just worked his way into a worse spot. Sokolov turns into Volyas and is now in his guard.
Sokolov wants to control from the top but Volyas keeps moving. Sokolov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Volyas is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sokolov dives into side control.
Volyas pushes Sokolov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sokolov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Volyas is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Sokolov take his back! Uh oh - Sokolov has got a rear naked choke here! Volyas is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sergei Sokolov! During a confident post fight interview, Sergei Sokolov thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
