Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doric Dienekes (ranked 163 p4p, 364 weight class) and Marcus Alexander (ranked 20 p4p, 49 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doric Dienekes! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Marcus Alexander! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dienekes slips a jab from Alexander. Dienekes slips a jab from Alexander. Alexander swings widly with a right hand
and Dienekes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Dienekes trying to mount his opponent but Alexander defends it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dienekes lands a nice short elbow. Alexander is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dienekes scores with a couple of nice shots. Dienekes is looking for a kimura here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alexander is looking to get back to full guard here but Dienekes has managed to pass to side control instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dienekes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alexander is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Alexander defending against the ground and pound. Alexander prevents Dienekes from improving position. Dienekes scoring with punches from side control. Dienekes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dienekes lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dienekes moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Alexander is not content to let Dienekes control the position. Dienekes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dienekes throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dienekes is trying to move to mount but Alexander reverses beautifully and ends up in Dienekes's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alexander stopping the sweep attempt from Dienekes. Dienekes is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dienekes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Dienekes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alexander won't allow Dienekes to sweep him here. Dienekes has his foot on Alexander's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alexander works his way back into a safe position though. Alexander postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Alexander stopping the sweep attempt from Dienekes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Doric Dienekes dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Alexander throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dienekes counters with a takedown into side control. Dienekes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dienekes lands an elbow. Dienekes throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Alexander works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dienekes trying to pass the guard but Alexander defending well. Alexander really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dienekes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alexander is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dienekes. Dienekes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dienekes winds up and cracks Alexander with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Dienekes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Dienekes is looking to take a break and control but Alexander is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dienekes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dienekes tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alexander knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexander blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dienekes. Dienekes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Alexander avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dienekes. Dienekes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alexander keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dienekes frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Dienekes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alexander is looking to escape. Dienekes swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Alexander is now in Dienekes's guard. A big mistake from Dienekes there, giving up the dominant position! Dienekes is trying to control the position but Alexander postures up. Dienekes wants to hit a sweep here but Alexander passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dienekes there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alexander avoids the attempt from Dienekes to control. Dienekes manages to regain half guard. Good work. Dienekes is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dienekes wants to control but Alexander is keeping busy and won't allow it. Dienekes moves into full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Doric Dienekes dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Alexander swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dienekes appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Alexander tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dienekes was well out of range. Poor timing from Alexander. Dienekes drops down looking for a counter takedown but Alexander sprawls and moves away. Dienekes moves out of range of the strikes. Dienekes tries to counter with a takedown but Alexander is quick to defend against it. Alexander throws a lazy uppercut
and Dienekes counters with a single leg into guard. Alexander didn't expect that. Alexander wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Dienekes manages to pass to side control.
Doric Dienekes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dienekes looks to score some points with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dienekes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Dienekes is keen to just control but Alexander is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dienekes missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Alexander is concentrating on defense, preventing Dienekes from advancing position. Dienekes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Dienekes is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Alexander reverses the position - he's now on top in Dienekes's guard. Alexander takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Alexander has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Dienekes to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Alexander is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Dienekes pulls down on the head and he's put Alexander to sleep! This one is all over!
