Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Quessy (ranked 1416 p4p, 2083 weight class) and Mark Beneke (ranked 190 p4p, 266 weight class). Quessy comes to the ring accompanied by NTM - Ma Benz. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Quessy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Beneke! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beneke misses with a few strikes there.
Jab, jab by Beneke - just one landing. Quessy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Beneke swivels and escapes. Beneke throws a counter combo. Beneke swings for the body but Quessy moves out of range.
Quessy shoots for a takedown but Beneke saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Quessy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Beneke quickly recovers to half guard. Beneke moves into full guard.
Beneke wants to stand and escape but Quessy is having none of it. Quessy postures up in Beneke's guard and throws a big left but Beneke blocks it. Beneke keeping full guard, as Quessy tries to pass. Quessy throws a big elbow that misses. Beneke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beneke wants to stand and escape but Quessy is having none of it. Quessy postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Quessy won't allow Beneke to get back to his feet. Quessy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Quessy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Quessy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Beneke is keeping the position for now. Quessy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Beneke is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Beneke tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Quessy's coaches at have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Quessy moves into full guard.
Beneke is looking to stand up but Quessy won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beneke stands up from Quessy's guard - Beneke perhaps looking for a knockout. Beneke bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Quessy's head. Beneke stuffs the takedown attempt from Quessy. Quessy gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Quessy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Beneke connects with a single shot there. Quessy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Beneke can pounce on him.
Nice defenses there by Quessy. Quessy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beneke as he avoids it easily. Quessy avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Beneke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Quessy. This has been an exciting period of action! A punch combination from Beneke misses. Quessy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beneke circles away. Beneke now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beneke looks to throw the jab but Quessy is out of range. A punch lands to the side of Quessy 's head but he takes it in his stride. Beneke lunges at Quessy with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Quessy's hand. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Beneke, as that shot connected.
Beneke fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Quessy feinted with a counter takedown. Quessy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beneke's waist but Beneke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quessy off to one side. Beneke lands a nice hook to Quessy's body. Quessy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Quessy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Quessy is looking to pass into half guard but Beneke pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Beneke is in guard.
Beneke gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Quessy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beneke circles away. Jab, jab by Beneke - just one landing. Beneke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Quessy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big right from Beneke misses. Beneke shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Quessy appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Quessy shoots in for a double leg but Beneke sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Quessy on the wrong end of a nice jab. No luck with that takedown attempt from Quessy. Beneke takes a swing at Quessy's ribcage but misses. Jab from Beneke. The fighters circling - Beneke throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Mark Beneke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Beneke scores with the left hand. Quessy knows he should have avoided that one. Beneke connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Quessy's hands. Beneke uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Beneke throws a body shot but no joy. Beneke with a nice calf kick. Beneke thows a left - swing and a miss! Quessy tries to move into range but Beneke moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Beneke dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Quessy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Quessy attempts a counter takedown but Beneke avoids it well and moves away. Beneke tests Quessy's chin there with a solid looking shot. Quessy shoots for a double leg takedown but Beneke sprawls well. He's pushed Quessy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Beneke stuffs the takedown. Quessy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Quessy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beneke's waist but Beneke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quessy off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Quessy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Beneke misses with a hook. Quessy ducked under it nicely. Beneke works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Beneke lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Quessy fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Quessy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beneke but Beneke pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A looping hook to the body misses from Beneke. Quessy does a little dance to reset his feet. Quessy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A decent looking cross lands there for Beneke.

Quessy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beneke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Quessy somewhat. A nice inside leg kick there by Beneke. That's going to slow Quessy down. Beneke cracks Quessy with an open hand slap. Quessy shoots and misses and Beneke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Beneke has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Beneke scores with a crisp jab that stopped Quessy in his tracks. Quessy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beneke avoids it really well and circles away. Beneke lands a nice shot that snaps Quessy's head back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Beneke lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Beneke connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Quessy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Quessy darts in looking for a takedown but Beneke gets double underhooks and turns Quessy into the ropes. Beneke manages to break the clinch.
Beneke scores with a sloppy right hand. Quessy should have avoided that one. A low kick lands for Beneke.
Quessy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Beneke defends it nicely. Beneke lands a right hook to the body.
Beneke lands a head shot. Horrible takedown attempt by Quessy or perhaps it was just good defense by Beneke, which made it look bad. Beneke appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Nice cross by Beneke.

Quessy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Beneke misses with a hook. A punch lands to the side of Quessy 's head but he takes it in his stride. No luck for Quessy with that takedown attempt. Beneke misses with a body shot.
Quessy half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Beneke tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Quessy is able to avoid easily. Quessy drops down looking for a counter takedown but Beneke sprawls and moves away. Quessy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Beneke misses with an uppercut. Quessy saw that one coming. Beneke misses with a looping right. Quessy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beneke's waist but Beneke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quessy off to one side. Quessy shoots in and drives through. Beneke sprawls well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A punch combination from Beneke misses. Quessy looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Quessy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Beneke connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Quessy scrambles back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quessy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beneke as he avoids it easily. Quessy moves away from the strike by Beneke. Beneke throws a body punch but Quessy moves out of range. Quessy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Quessy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beneke lands a head shot. Good standup being displayed there by Beneke as he connects with a hook. Quessy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Beneke throws a hook but Quessy blocks it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Quessy. Beneke cracks Quessy with a right hand to the side of the head. Quessy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Beneke tries to avoid it but Quessy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Beneke to the ground. Beneke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Beneke listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Quessy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beneke as he jumps to the side. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Beneke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Beneke throws the left hand but Quessy avoids the punch easily. Quessy tries for a takedown but Beneke sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Beneke stuffs the takedown attempt from Quessy. Quessy gets slowly back to his feet. Quessy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Quessy takes one on the button. Quessy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Beneke scores with a jab to the head.

Quessy takes a step back to recover. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Left hook, right uppercut from Beneke. Beneke throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Beneke punishes Quessy's body with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beneke lands with a straight right. Quessy didn't see that one coming. Quessy sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Beneke's corner calls for a 1-2. Beneke obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Quessy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beneke.
Quessy drops down looking for a counter takedown but Beneke sprawls and moves away. Beneke lands a two punch combo.
Quessy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Beneke feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Quessys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Beneke throws a leg kick but Quessy checks it. Quessy dives in for a single leg takedown but Beneke sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. Beneke wants to get back to striking at distance but Quessy won't allow it.
Beneke manages to break the clinch.
Nice defenses there by Quessy. Mark Beneke seems to be getting the better of the standup. Beneke loads up on a big right hand but Quessy slips the punch. Beneke throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Quessy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Quessy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Quessy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beneke but Beneke pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Beneke throws the left hand but Quessy avoids the punch easily. Nice takedown defense from Beneke. No joy for Quessy on that attempt. Beneke misses with the combination.
Beneke paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Beneke throws a hook to the side of Quessy's head but Quessy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nice jab there from Beneke. Quessy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Beneke lands a jab to the nose. Quessy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mark Beneke wins by unanimous decision! Mark Beneke decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
