Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chaz Popizicki (ranked 790 p4p, 2125 weight class) and Batu Otgonbayar (ranked 109 p4p, 281 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chaz Popizicki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Batu Otgonbayar! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Otgonbayar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Popizicki tries to keep at a distance but Otgonbayar has taken the fight into the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Popizicki. Otgonbayar gets through Popizicki's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Popizicki blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round. Popizicki pulls Otgonbayar in to control the position. Otgonbayar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Popizicki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Otgonbayar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Popizicki's coaches at Temple of Fitness have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Popizicki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Otgonbayar's guard. Popizicki is working the ground and pound from guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Otgonbayar can do anything to dispel that myth. Otgonbayar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Popizicki is controlling him. Popizicki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Popizicki no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Popizicki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Otgonbayar is aware though and is defending well. Otgonbayar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Popizicki is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Popizicki controls Otgonbayar momentarily but Otgonbayar frees himself. Popizicki seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Otgonbayar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Popizicki looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Otgonbayar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Popizicki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Otgonbayar has managed to get both his arms back between Popizicki's legs - danger averted. Popizicki throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Popizicki distracts Otgonbayar with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Popizicki stands and throws Otgonbayar's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Otgonbayar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Popizicki swats away the attempt to clinch by Otgonbayar. Popizicki is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Otgonbayar can do to turn this around?
