PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turner Crocop (ranked 1831 p4p, 1221 weight class) and Bobby Bayou (ranked 61 p4p, 89 weight class). Crocop kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cro Cop. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bayou tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Crocop manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It appears Crocop was looking to counter with a kick there.

Bayou closes the distance and clinches.

Bayou pulls guard.
Crocop wants to stand but Bayou has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bayou tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Crocop wants to stand but Bayou is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bayou pulls Crocop in close to prevent any damage.
Crocop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crocop wants to get up but he can't break Bayou's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bayou is standing up over Crocop. Crocop looks to escape but Bayou dives into side control.
Crocop is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bayou is controlling him well.
Crocop bucks up and tries to throw Bayou off but instead Bayou has got his back!

Crocop is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Crocop looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bayou controlling the position well here. Crocop rolled but Bayou kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Let's hope that Bayou has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Crocop is trying to get back to his feet but Bayou has full control of the position and if anything, Crocop has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Bayou changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bayou looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A punch lands to the side of Bayou 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Bayou has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Crocop throwing a counter right hand but Bayou manages to avoid it.

Crocop looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Crocop circles away from the clinch attempt
and Crocop counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bayou thinking.
Bayou slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Bayou tries to clinch up but Crocop circles away and keeps his distance.

It looks like Turner Crocop has been cut.
Bobby Bayou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crocop keeps the fight on the outside.
Crocop is looking to counter with a body kick.

Crocop gets tackled into the cage by Bayou. Bayou maintains the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Crocop's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Crocop's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bayou tries to clinch up.
Bayou blocks a head kick by Crocop.
A good leg kick by Crocop.

Bayou waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Crocop. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Crocop to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Crocop wants to get back to his feet but Bayou is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bayou controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bayou passes Crocop's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Crocop on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Crocop tries to get out of the position.
Bayou prevents Crocop from standing back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bayou content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Bayou showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

It looked like Crocop was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Bayou.

Bayou tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Crocop counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Crocop looks at the referee who does nothing so Crocop lands a crushing right that sends Bayou to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
