Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Fontaine moves into the clinch. Hestler looking for a takedown. Hestler gets control of Fontaine's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hestler will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fontaine advances position into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Fontaine (3) vs (0) Hestler Fontaine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hestler keeps working. Hestler can't do much from the bottom here. You can see the frustration on Hestler's face as Fontaine controls the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fontaine is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hestler is trying to escape and Fontaine transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hestler is forced to tap! Nice work there by Fontaine! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Trip Fontaine! Trip Fontaine really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that The Huntington New Age Wellness Community logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. |
