Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Butch Butcherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Idan Atar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Butch Butcherson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Idan Atar's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Butch Butcherson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Idan Atar! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Atar is working for takedown but Butcherson is calmly controlling the position for now. Butcherson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Atar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Atar can do anything to dispel that myth. Atar wants to get back to his feet but Butcherson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Butcherson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Atar, up you get! Atar looks gassed! Butcherson closes the distance and clinches up with Atar, looking for a takedown. Butcherson pushes Atar against the ropes but Atar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Atar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Butcherson counters with a two punch combo. Butcherson misses with a head kick.
Butcherson gets a takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Still in half guard, Butcherson seems content to control. Butcherson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Atar with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Butcherson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Butcherson in particular looking to stall. Atar won't allow Butcherson to pass to mount. Butcherson slows the pace down in half guard. Butcherson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Butcherson works his way into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Butcherson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Butcherson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Butcherson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Atar is looking to escape. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Butcherson with a couple of short strikes. Butcherson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Atar's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Butcherson content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Butcherson landing shots from mount. Butcherson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Butcherson cracks Atar with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Atar blocks a head kick by Butcherson.
Butcherson shoots in and bounces Atar off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Butcherson landing with the ground and pound. Atar is looking to stand up but Butcherson isn't so interested in that idea. Butcherson forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atar taking some punishment here, with Butcherson in his half guard. Butcherson trying to control the pace. Butcherson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Butcherson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Atar for as long as he can get away with. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Butcherson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Butcherson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Atar is working to avoid the ground and pound but Butcherson connects with a decent elbow. Atar is trying to buck Butcherson off. Butcherson advances to mount. Butcherson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Atar hang on? Butcherson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Butcherson scoring with strikes but Atar is staying in there. Atar is breathing heavily. Butcherson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Butch Butcherson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Butch Butcherson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Butcherson shoots for a takedown but Atar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Butcherson has closed the distance and engaged Atar in a clinch.

Butcherson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Butcherson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Butcherson blocks Atar's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Atar is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Atar tries to buck Butcherson off but he can't manage it. Atar keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Butcherson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Atar hang on?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Butcherson controlling his opponent. Atar trying desperately to get to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Butcherson looking to control and managing it successfully. Butcherson punishing his opponent with strikes. Butcherson won't let Atar get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Butcherson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Atar takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Butcherson controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Butch Butcherson dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Butcherson. Atar tries for a takedown but Butcherson circles away easily and Butcherson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Butcherson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Butcherson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Atar to get to his feet. Butcherson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Atar tries to get back to half guard but can't. Butcherson landing shots from mount. Butcherson is going olschool here, as he tries to force Atar to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Atar shrugs it off. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Butcherson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atar is looking to improve his position but Butcherson isn't that keen on the idea. Atar looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Atar is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with Butcherson on his back. Butcherson looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Atar has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
