Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elvis Park (ranked 3254 p4p, 3365 weight class) and Elliot Stabler (ranked 388 p4p, 404 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Elvis Park!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Elliot Stabler!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stabler throws a lazy right hand but Park sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Park jabs Stabler to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Stabler misses with the combination.
Park moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Elliot Stabler has been cut.
Stabler wants to clinch but Park slips to the side

and Park counters with a single leg into guard. Stabler didn't expect that.
Park passes Stabler's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Park is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Stabler is not content to let Park control the position.

Park seems to be working for a kimura but Stabler defends the submission attempt.

Park is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Park is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Park wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stabler keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

That was a close round but I would say that Elvis Park will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Park goes for a double leg but Stabler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stabler continues to drive forward.
Stabler is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Park with a body shot.
Park jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stabler walks away with a smile on his face. Park gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stabler throws a head kick but Park moves out of range.
Park throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Park staying out of range there.
Elvis Park is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sloppy strikes from Stabler. Those never looked like landing.
Stabler is looking to clinch but Park is avoiding it.

and Park counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stabler darts in and clinches Park up against the cage.
Stabler misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Park keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stabler's efforts to push away.
Park is trying to pull guard but Stabler turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Stabler seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Park does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

As Stabler looks to move away, Park throws a big counter combo but Stabler just gets out of the way.

Stabler felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Park is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stabler is just riding it out for now. Park eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Park drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stabler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Park has Stabler in his guard.


Park escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stabler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Park working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stabler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stabler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Park is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Stabler has his hands clasped together but Park extends and breaks Stabler's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Park.
