Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trent Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jones takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Trent Jones has been cut.
Lawrence lands a big uppercut and Jones crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Jones looks OK. Lawrence waves Jones back to his feet!
Jones is rocked!
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Lawrence swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lawrence let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick misses from Jones.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Jones tries to clinch but Lawrence is having none of it.
Jones walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Jones limp body while Lawrence jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jay Lawrence!
