Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry LeFell (ranked 898 p4p, 2145 weight class) and Gabriel Mil (ranked 117 p4p, 270 weight class). Larry LeFell had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Larry LeFell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gabriel Mil!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LeFell closes the distance and clinches.
Mil goes for a takedown attempt but LeFell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

LeFell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mil can't get the takedown.
LeFell tries for a takedown but Mil manages to get underhooks.
Mil changes levels and goes for a takedown here. LeFell fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Larry LeFell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Mil.

Mil is looking to take this one to the mat.

LeFell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mil tried to land a shot to the body but connects with LeFell's elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
LeFell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

LeFell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mil keeps working.

Mil has a takedown stuffed.

Mil gets tackled into the cage by LeFell. LeFell maintains the clinch.
LeFell scores with a shot to the side of Mil's head.

Mil gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Mil is nestled in close to LeFell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mil throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around LeFell's waist but LeFell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mil off to one side.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
LeFell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mil's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mil is on top in guard.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting LeFell here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
LeFell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mil is fighting to break LeFell's control of his arms but LeFell is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

LeFell clinches up with Mil and pushes him back against the cage.

Mil gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, LeFell regains guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Larry LeFell will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mil changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. LeFell tries to avoid it but Mil manages to keep hold of a leg and drag LeFell to the ground. LeFell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mil wants the takedown. LeFell is fighting it off but Mil persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in LeFell's guard against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mil makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Larry LeFell.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for LeFell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
