PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hey Arnold (ranked 4166 p4p, 4943 weight class) and Aden Burgers (ranked 426 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Arnold might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eye of the tiger. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arnold fails with a takedown attempt.
Arnold shoots in but no luck this time.

Arnold closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Arnold wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Burgers, who protects the arm well.
Burgers wants to get back to his feet but Arnold drags him back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burgers is looking for a sweep.
Arnold throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Burgers is pushing Arnold's head away, looking to escape. Arnold manages to hold on to the position though.
Burgers is being controlled here.
Burgers is trying to control Arnold's posture but Arnold avoids it.

Arnold is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burgers knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Burgers is looking for a sweep.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Arnold trying to control the position but Burgers is working away.

Arnold tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Arnold has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Burgers is not content to let Arnold control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Arnold ducks under a wild hook from Burgers.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Burgers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A left lands for Burgers.
Arnold shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burgers sprawls well. Burgers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Arnold gets slowly back to his feet.

A cross from Burgers lands.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burgers throws a jab but it's blocked by Arnold.
Arnold changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Arnold tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burgers swivels and escapes.

Burgers misses with a low kick.
Burgers smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

It looks like Hey Arnold has been cut.
Burgers has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Arnold misses with a hook. Burgers ducked under it nicely.
Arnold shoots for a takedown but Burgers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Burgers misses with a jab, cross combination.
Arnold changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Burgers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Arnold looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Arnold shoots in and drives through. Burgers sprawls well.
Burgers jabs Arnold right on the nose. Arnold blinks but takes it well.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Burgers lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Arnold misses with a takedown attempt
and Burgers counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Aden Burgers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Arnold slips a straight right by Burgers.
Burgers throws a shot from downtown. Arnold moves away and avoids it.

A jab from Burgers does it's job there.
Arnold doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Arnold takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Burgers lands a nice shot that snaps Arnold's head back.
Arnold displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burgers throws out the jab.
Arnold shoots in for a double leg but Burgers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Burgers sends Arnold crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Burgers is motioning to the referee to let Arnold up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Arnold is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Burgers tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Arnold.

Burgers cracks Arnold with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Burgers has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Arnold to stand back up!
Oh Arnold is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hey Arnold's cut is getting worse.
Burgers lands a nice hook to Arnold's body. Arnold takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Arnold seems to have got his legs back now.
Burgers fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Burgers with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Burgers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Burgers lands a big uppercut and Arnold crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Arnold looks OK. Burgers waves Arnold back to his feet!
Burgers uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Arnold has time to react.

Hey Arnold's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Burgers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Aden Burgers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Hey Arnold's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Burgers cracks Arnold on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Arnold falls backwards against the cage. Burgers follows up with more strikes that drop Arnold to his knees. Burgers keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Arnold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aden Burgers!
