Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Whole Nutz (ranked 2232 p4p, 24319 weight class) and Kane Point (ranked 282 p4p, 532 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Whole Nutz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Kane Point!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Point cracks Nutz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Point throws a body shot but no joy.
A punch combination from Nutz misses.
Point throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Nutz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nutz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Point tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nutz was well out of range. Poor timing from Point.
Point stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Point wants it to stay on the feet.

Nutz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kane Point seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Point counters with a head kick. That will keep Nutz thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Nutz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Point thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Nutz if he has to take too many more of those.

Nutz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Point is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nutz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nutz's back!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Whole Nutz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nutz shoots in looking for a takedown. Point tries to sprawl out of it but Nutz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Point manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Point, as that shot connected.
Nutz will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Nutz misses with a takedown attempt - Point sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Point fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Point gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Whole Nutz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Point holds on and takes a little breather.

Nutz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Point looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Point looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Point!
Point is looking to take a break and control but Nutz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Point wants to stand but Nutz has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Nutz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Point - the referee stops the clock and Nutz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Point. Nutz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Nutz looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nutz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
