This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 17 wins and 33 losses; Filmore Everett! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 27 losses; Nate Pawn! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pawn clinches. Everett is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Everett has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pawn avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Everett wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Filmore Everett. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pawn is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Everett pulls him back up using the underhooks. Everett turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Everett (4) vs (0) Pawn Everett tries to advance to mount but can't. Pawn struggling a bit here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pawn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Everett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Everett is trying to get an arm triangle but Pawn is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Everett happy to just control the position for now. Pawn is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Everett is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Score +2 for reaching mount: Everett (6) vs (0) Pawn Everett tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Everett is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pawn has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pawn! That's two minutes gone in the round. Everett keeping moving, preventing Pawn from controlling successfully. Pawn is fighting to break Everett's control of his arms but Everett is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Pawn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Everett swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Pawn trying to control but Everett is working from the bottom. Everett controls Pawn momentarily but Pawn frees himself. That's three minutes gone in the round. Everett has his hands on Pawn's head, controlling the position. Everett keeping moving, preventing Pawn from controlling successfully. Pawn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Everett is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Everett has escaped and now he's on top! That's four minutes gone in the round. Pawn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Everett is one step ahead there. Everett slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Pawn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Everett controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Everett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Everett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Pawn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Everett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Everett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Everett looking to pass the guard. Pawn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Everett slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Everett (11) vs (2) Pawn Pawn is trying to control Everett's posture but Everett avoids it. A lull in the action here as Everett stalls from top position. Everett tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Pawn is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Everett's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Everett! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Pawn has tapped! This one is allllll over!
