Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23753 p4p, 23693 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 39 - 71 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 54 - 55 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Kiang is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nada sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nada fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kiang thinks about countering with a body kick. Kiang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nada steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kiang is thwarting Nada's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nada is controlling Kiang's position as best he can from this difficult position. Nada wants to improve his position but Kiang is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nada wants to get back to full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nada shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kiang as he avoids it easily. Nada throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kiang was covering up waiting for the punch and Nada finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kiang holds on and takes a little breather. Kiang is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kiang pulls Nada in close to prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nada is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nada trying to move into half guard but instead Kiang has managed to sweep!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Way Nada will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Nada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kiang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nada somewhat. Kiang is looking to counter with head kicks. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nada. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nada shoots in and bounces Kiang off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nada. Kiang seems keen to control Nada's posture. Kiang controls Nada momentarily but Nada frees himself. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nada preventing the sweep. Nada engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Nada loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nada being controlled here momentarily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nada. Kiang is looking to counter with a body kick. Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada. Nada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kiang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nada somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kiang closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nada quickly recovers to half guard. Nada is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Nada trying to hold on to Kiang's head to control him but Kiang postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Yawa Kiang will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Nada stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nada wants it to stay on the feet. Nice takedown defense from Kiang. No joy for Nada on that attempt. Nada shoots for a double leg takedown but Kiang sprawls well. He's pushed Nada's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. It appears Kiang was looking to counter with a kick there. A solid body kick from Kiang. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang scores with a takedown into Nada's guard. Kiang is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Yawa Kiang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nada avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Nada keeping moving, preventing Kiang from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nada. Kiang tried to counter with a leg kick but Nada avoided it. Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiang keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kiang thinks about countering with a body kick. Nada moves out of range of the body kick from Kiang.
Kiang drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nada is trying to escape the position but Kiang is controlling the position. Nada is trying to get back to half guard. Nada can't do much from the bottom here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kiang in side control, just content to control the action for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Yawa Kiang showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kiang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
