Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luke Ridley (ranked 733 p4p, 595 weight class) and Danny Vargas (ranked 106 p4p, 82 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ridley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to No Shelter/ Rage Against The Machine. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Ridley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Vargas! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vargas throws a nice looking combination but Ridley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ridley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vargas circles away quickly and effectively. Vargas throws out a counter right but Ridley avoids it with no problem. Ridley lands with an overhand left. Ridley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vargas.
Vargas let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. The fighters circling - Vargas throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Ridley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vargas on his heels. He'll look to pass Vargas's guard now, I'm sure. Vargas wants to control the position but Ridley says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Ridley is thwarting Vargas's attempts to control the position. Ridley sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vargas defending well though. Ridley drops an elbow to the side of Vargas's head. Ridley is looking to advance position but Vargas won't allow it. Ridley wants to work for an arm triangle but Vargas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ridley lands a nice short elbow. Ridley working Vargas over with strikes. Ridley throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Vargas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Ridley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vargas's head. Ridley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vargas keeps working. Ridley is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Vargas in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ridley lands a couple of good shots and Vargas has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Vargas is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Ridley tightening his grip on Vargas, looking for the choke. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ridley punches the canvas rather than the man. Ridley working for the choke. Ridley thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Vargas is trying to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vargas trying to control the action but Ridley just sinks the hooks in. Ridley is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Vargas has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Ridley throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Ridley working for the choke. Ridley lands with a hammerfist to the side of Vargas's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ridley is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Vargas taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Ridley.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Luke Ridley! A relieved looking Luke Ridley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
