PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deon Jeffries (ranked 3443 p4p, 1961 weight class) and Jimar Kinkead (ranked 407 p4p, 255 weight class). Kinkead has chosen No Sunshine as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deon Jeffries!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimar Kinkead!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeffries stuffs the takedown.
Jeffries goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Jimar Kinkead has been cut.
Jeffries swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kinkead counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jeffries throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kinkead moves into the clinch.
Jeffries is trying to break the clinch but Kinkead has him pressed against the cage.
Jeffries is working for takedown but Kinkead is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jeffries wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jeffries's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jeffries misses with the combination.
Kinkead with the counter takedown but Jeffries avoids it easily.
Jeffries lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kinkead circles away quickly and effectively.

Kinkead closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jeffries quickly recovers to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kinkead takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kinkead scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kinkead is working for a submission of some sort.
Kinkead stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kinkead missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Kinkead stalling.
Kinkead passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kinkead has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jeffries's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kinkead thowing shots but they're missing.

Kinkead has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Jeffries is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimar Kinkead!
Deon Jeffries spoke after the fight, saying 'I’ll be back better stronger and faster you bastards.'.
