PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ramone Rocksaw (ranked 338 p4p, 138 weight class) and Anton Krylov (ranked 41 p4p, 17 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Anton Krylov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ramone Rocksaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Krylov!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocksaw slips under a jab.
Rocksaw feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Krylov lands with a hook. Rocksaw tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Krylov's corner calls for a 1-2. Krylov obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Krylov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rocksaw counters with a solid body kick.
We've been hearing reports that Rocksaw has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Krylov misses with a straight left.
And Rocksaw counters with a quick kick to the body but Krylov blocks it.
Rocksaw lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Krylov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Krylov shoots in but no luck this time.
Rocksaw swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Anton Krylov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rocksaw tried to score with a low kick but Krylov checks it.
Krylov misses with a left hand
and Rocksaw counters with a head kick. That will keep Krylov thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Krylov throws a looping overhand right but Rocksaw ducks down to avoid it.
Rocksaw half committed to a counter leg kick.
Rocksaw looks to score with a jab to the body but Krylov is just out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rocksaw misses with a hook to the body
and Krylov counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Rocksaw drives through with a takedown into Krylov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rocksaw stands up over Krylov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rocksaw got a little sloppy there for a moment and Krylov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rocksaw has managed to get both his arms back between Krylov's legs - danger averted.
Rocksaw landing with the ground and pound.

Krylov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rocksaw is aware though and is defending well.
Rocksaw is in close to Krylov's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Krylov is rocked!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rocksaw accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Krylov working for submissions but it's allowed Rocksaw to get to half guard.
Krylov is looking for a sweep. Rocksaw is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Krylov makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Krylov.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Krylov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rocksaw scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Krylov has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rocksaw should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Krylov has tightened it up now! Rocksaw should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Anton Krylov!
An out of breath Anton Krylov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Ramone Rocksaw had this to say: 'Lanky piece of shit, it’s a joke'.
