Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Jefferson (ranked 5532 p4p, 2377 weight class) and Eishuu Retsu (ranked 534 p4p, 310 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Retsu misses with a head kick.
Retsu throws a leg kick
and Jefferson counters with a stiff right hand.
Jefferson avoids the body shot from Retsu.
Eishuu Retsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Retsu tries to work over Jefferson's front leg with a kick but Jefferson checks it.
It looked like Jefferson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Retsu throws a head kick but Jefferson moves out of range.

and Jefferson counters with a stiff right hand.
Jefferson blocks a head kick by Retsu.
Jefferson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Retsu misses with a low kick as Jefferson jumps back.
A quick step to the side and Jefferson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jefferson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Retsu has time to react.
Retsu is rocked!
Jefferson lands with a good body shot.
Retsu is still on wobbly legs! Can Jefferson finish him?

Retsu throws a hook but Jefferson avoids it easily.
Retsu throws a lazy head kick
and Jefferson counters with a big right hand! Oh Retsu is in trouble here! Jefferson follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
