Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jujitsu John (ranked 4747 p4p, 2530 weight class) and Tommaso Montanti (ranked 491 p4p, 321 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jujitsu John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommaso Montanti!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John tries for a takedown but Montanti sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Montanti throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Montanti throws a big shot that misses.
John went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Montanti defends well against a solid takedown attempt from John.
John definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Montanti gets caught flat footed, as John shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Montanti manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

John is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Montanti to keep the fight standing.

John shoots for a double leg takedown but Montanti sprawls well. He's pushed John's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Montanti is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by John.
John will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

John drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and John jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

John jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Montanti walks away with a smile on his face. John gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
John takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Montanti uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before John has time to react.
Montanti misses with a low kick as John jumps back.
John half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Montanti displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from John.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tommaso Montanti dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Montanti has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
John moves forwards but Montanti connects with a nice, crisp jab.

John closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

John is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Montanti is just riding it out for now. John eventually gives up the hold.
Well, if John is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza Yum. Can't wait.
