Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rock Jay (ranked 785 p4p, 933 weight class) and Luan Mesquita (ranked 101 p4p, 117 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mesquita let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Jay misses with an uppercut. Mesquita saw that one coming.
Rock Jay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jay uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mesquita.
Mesquita has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jay is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Mesquita had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jay defends it easily.

Jay is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mesquita gets his way!
