Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Quentin Hayes (ranked 3818 p4p, 24617 weight class) and Moby Kick (ranked 394 p4p, 529 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quentin Hayes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Moby Kick!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes throws a poor cross that misses
and Kick counters with an inside leg kick.
Kick swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hayes just misses with a punch to the body.
Kick tries to clinch there but Hayes circles away.
Hayes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kick.
Hayes misses with a body shot.
Kick tries a head kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kick avoids the body shot from Hayes.
Kick tries to counter by closing the distance.

Hayes misses with an uppercut.

Kick wants to clinch up but Hayes keeps it at a distance.
Kick displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hayes throws out the jab.
Kick throws a big counter head kick but Hayes avoids it with no problem.
Hayes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Kick looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hayes misses with a hook. Kick ducked under it nicely.
Hayes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kick is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Kick is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Quentin Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hayes throws a shot from downtown. Kick moves away and avoids it.
Hayes backing away here, and Kick unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
A bone on bone clash there as Hayes blocks the leg kick.
Hayes looks to land a left hand but Kick moved out of range nicely.
Kick wants to counter with a clinch but Hayes pushes him away.
Hayes misses the shot to the body.
Kick throws a counter combo.
Kick tries a head kick but it misses.
Hayes lands a jab to Kick's midsection.
Hayes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kick fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Kick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A little feinted left hand from Hayes on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hayes scores with a jab to the body.
Kick is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kick tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hayes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hayes is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Kick's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Kick throws a lazy head kick
and Hayes counters with a huge right that knocks Kick out cold! Hayes is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Quentin Hayes!
After the fight, Quentin Hayes was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
