Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gotrek Gurnisson (ranked 595 p4p, 1298 weight class) and Geordi La Forge (ranked 59 p4p, 136 weight class). Gurnisson comes to the cage accompanied by Pride Is The Devil - J Cole. La Forge has chosen Mobb Deep - Survival Of The Fittest as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurnisson lands with a straight right. La Forge didn't see that one coming.
Gurnisson takes a kick to the side of the head.

Gurnisson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before La Forge can pounce on him.

La Forge wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
La Forge tries to circle away but Gurnisson has him pinned against the cage.
Gurnisson swings wildly with an uppercut but La Forge uses good head movement to avoid it.

La Forge is trying to hold Gurnisson in close to prevent damage but Gurnisson has managed to pass into half guard.

La Forge felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Gotrek Gurnisson will probably get the nod.

La Forge throws the left hand but Gurnisson avoids the punch easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Geordi La Forge seems to be getting the better of the standup.
La Forge throws a shot from downtown. Gurnisson moves away and avoids it.
La Forge takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Gurnisson shoots in looking for a takedown but La Forge manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gurnisson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gurnisson closes the distance looking for a takedown. La Forge stuffs it but Gurnisson still has hold of him. Gurnisson picks La Forge up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Gurnisson slams La Forge to the floor and that's really hurt La Forge - he doesn't know where he is! Gurnisson throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
