PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denis Stojnic (ranked 3723 p4p, 4481 weight class) and Aryan Mcintyre (ranked 0 p4p, 454 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Aryan Mcintyre was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Denis Stojnic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aryan Mcintyre!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintyre keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Mcintyre looking to score a takedown here. Stojnic is defending well but Mcintyre drives through and ends up in Stojnic's guard.
Mcintyre won't allow Stojnic to sweep him here.

Mcintyre gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Stojnic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mcintyre swivels and escapes.

Mcintyre darts in and clinches Stojnic up against the cage.

Mcintyre manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Mcintyre wants to sweep here but Stojnic controlling him for the moment.
Stojnic tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcintyre is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stojnic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stojnic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mcintyre wants to get back to his feet but Stojnic is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Our spies down at at Rising Sun Training inform us that Mcintyre has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Mcintyre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stojnic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mcintyre is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Stojnic trying to control but Mcintyre is working from the bottom.
Stojnic is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mcintyre is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Stojnic is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Stojnic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcintyre swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stojnic pushes down on Mcintyre's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mcintyre is staying active underneath Stojnic, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mcintyre moves into full guard.
Mcintyre trying to keep a closed guard but Stojnic is proving a slippery customer.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mcintyre keeping full guard, as Stojnic tries to pass.
Mcintyre wants to sweep but no luck.
Stojnic sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mcintyre's guard.
Stojnic seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Mcintyre actively working from the bottom here.

Stojnic is working for a submission of some sort.

Stojnic is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Stojnic is trying to control. Mcintyre wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Stojnic definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Mcintyre is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stojnic is working for a kimura but Mcintyre is defending it quite comfortably.

Stojnic is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcintyre defends it well.

Stojnic blocks the strikes from Mcintyre.

Stojnic is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mcintyre is defending against the submission attempts here by Stojnic.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stojnic maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Mcintyre could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Stojnic has cracked it and Mcintyre is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Stojnic!
