Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kashton Pearce (ranked 2005 p4p, 1385 weight class) and Henry Shorts (ranked 255 p4p, 187 weight class). Kashton Pearce could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Henry Shorts's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kashton Pearce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Henry Shorts!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorts shoots for a takedown but Pearce saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pearce throws a big counter combination but Shorts scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Shorts fails with a takedown attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Pearce misses the target.
Horrible takedown attempt by Shorts or perhaps it was just good defense by Pearce, which made it look bad.
Pearce was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Kashton Pearce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Shorts.
Shorts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pearce as he avoids it easily.
Pearce is looking to counter punch.
Shorts looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pearce is fending him off so far but Shorts persists. Nope, Pearce circles away and we're back to standing.
A quick step to the side and Pearce tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pearce leaves Shorts with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
It looked like Pearce wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Shorts with a poor takedown
and Pearce counters with a crisp one two that drops Shorts! Pearce thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Shorts to his feet! Shorts is in big trouble!
Shorts is rocked!
Shorts doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Pearce counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kashton Pearce!
After the fight, Kashton Pearce was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
