PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Musashi Wataru (ranked 2890 p4p, 4275 weight class) and Tomoya Yamamoto (ranked 110 p4p, 175 weight class). Yamamoto has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Tomoya Yamamoto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wataru.
Wataru lands with a nice body kick.

Wataru lands a front kick to the face, that drops Yamamoto to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!

It looks like Tomoya Yamamoto has been cut.
Wataru misses with a few strikes there.
Yamamoto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Wataru gets a clinch.
Wataru could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wataru has Yamamoto pushed against the ropes.
Wataru lands a nice shot to the body.
Yamamoto looks winded!

Yamamoto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wataru moves into the clinch.

Wataru breaks the clinch.
Yamamoto throws a body shot but no joy.
Wataru looks to land a combination but Yamamoto avoids it well.
Wataru will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wataru throws a head kick but Yamamoto moves out of range.

Wataru staggers Yamamoto with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Yamamoto looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

Yamamoto has taken the fight to the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.

Yamamoto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wataru scores with a three punch combo!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wataru closes the distance and clinches.
Yamamoto is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Wataru takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Yamamoto wants to stall.

Yamamoto is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Wataru has denied him.
Yamamoto is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Yamamoto breaks the clinch.
Yamamoto throws a body kick that misses.
Yamamoto is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Wataru just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Yamamoto has gone limp and this one is over!
