Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elliot Mendoza (ranked 4027 p4p, 3937 weight class) and Ricky Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza misses with a few strikes there.

Santos scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendoza is pushing Santos's head away, looking to escape. Santos manages to hold on to the position though.

Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mendoza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Santos moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Santos! But no joy.

Santos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Santos has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mendoza defend it? Santos steps over the head and cranks it - Mendoza is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Santos!

Ricky Santos decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
