PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grand Admiral Thrawn (ranked 1612 p4p, 1703 weight class) and Krisko Kurtev (ranked 215 p4p, 225 weight class). Krisko Kurtev told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kurtev closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thrawn to the mat! Thrawn manages to get full guard.
Kurtev loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Thrawn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kurtev scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kurtev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Thrawn has momentary wrist control but Kurtev slips an elbow through the middle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kurtev is working Thrawn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Kurtev working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Thrawn is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kurtev scores with a couple of nice shots.

Kurtev scores with a big shot! Thrawn's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Thrawn! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
