Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AJ Menendez (ranked 24016 p4p, 3258 weight class) and Hermio Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Menendez comes to the cage accompanied by Kurt Angle Theme. Hermio Junior has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menendez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Junior fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice uppercut lands for Junior. That snapped Menendez's head back.
Menendez takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Junior thuds a left hand into Menendez's body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Junior has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Junior dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Menendez doesn't manage to clinch there - Junior circles away.

Junior drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Junior is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Menendez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Junior has hold of Menendez's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Menendez seems comfortable defending it but Junior has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Menendez is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Menendez is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Junior couldn't care less - he's delighted!
