PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kamil Khadziev (ranked 2595 p4p, 4927 weight class) and Mordecai Brown (ranked 257 p4p, 394 weight class). Mordecai Brown told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Mordecai Brown!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khadziev walks into a left hand.

It looks like Kamil Khadziev has been cut.
Brown with a nice calf kick.
Khadziev shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Brown gets caught napping as Khadziev dives in and scores a takedown. Brown manages to retain guard.

Brown wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've been hearing that Khadziev has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Khadziev is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Khadziev seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brown for as long as he can get away with.
