Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Okropir (ranked 4017 p4p, 3363 weight class) and Jakob Artusii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jakob Artusii was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Okropir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jakob Artusii! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Artusii works the jab nicely.
It looks like Peter Okropir has been cut. Artusii uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A lazy left from Artusii finds it's target. Artusii shoots in for a double leg but Okropir sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Okropir appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Okropir is looking to chop away at Artusii's legs. Okropir darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Okropir controlling the action here. Artusii trying to control but Okropir postures up.
Artusii looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Artusii tries to get to full guard but Okropir has control of the leg.

Okropir avoids the attempt from Artusii to control. Okropir lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Okropir looking to control and managing it successfully. Artusii tries to hold on but Okropir postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Artusii manages to regain half guard. Good work. Okropir is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Artusii sees it coming and defends easily. Still in half guard, Okropir seems content to control. Artusii trying to control but Okropir postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Okropir trying to control but Artusii is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Okropir is really struggling to control Artusii but he's trying to hold on to the position. Artusii has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Okropir can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Okropir stands and throws Artusii's legs to the side, diving into side control. Artusii wants to control but Okropir postures up. Artusii manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Okropir lands strikes from half guard. Artusii is looking to control Okropir's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Artusii avoid being mounted? The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Okropir lands a nice short elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Okropir prevents Artusii from improving his position. Artusii gets back to full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Okropir seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Artusii does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Okropir scoring with strikes to the body and head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Peter Okropir will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Peter Okropir's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Artusii shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Artusii fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Artusii with a hook. Okropir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Artusii is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Okropir pulls his head out easily. Artusii has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Okropir is working away from the top position though. Peter Okropir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are battling for position here. Artusii manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Artusii had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Okropir defends it easily. Okropir forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Okropir takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Okropir is thwarting Artusii's attempts to control the position. Artusii is not content to let Okropir control the position. Artusii avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Okropir. Okropir tries to stand and escape but Artusii is controlling the position. Artusii tries to get to full guard but Okropir has control of the leg. Artusii is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Okropir pulls his head out easily. Artusii manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Okropir wants to pass the guard but Artusii is keeping the position. Artusii working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Okropir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Artusii is tightening it up a little... Okropir has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Okropir reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Okropir taps out! Nice BJJ there by Artusii!
